So it’s been a while since I last wrote my first blog entry. I’ve been really consumed with not having a job, and although you might think that because I don’t have a job it’s easy to blog, it’s actually quite the opposite. Trying to find a job is just like having a full-time job except that it NEVER leaves your mind. Each day I wake up am reminded that I’m unemployed… and my search continues.
Anyway, this past week I went into New York to have an informational interview and then I stayed with Josh for the week in Montclair. It was nice to make some connections with professionals, hear successful people talk about struggles of the ‘real world’ and still have time to catch up and cook fun meals with Josh.
While he was at work one night I was looking on the internet for some yoga classes and found a new studio that was just opening up. It’s called Boone Studio in Montclair. I highly suggest checking it out if you have the time. Because they’re new, they are offering free (did I just say FREE?!?!) Yes! FREE classes for two weeks! Such a treat! So I started going to the studio and taking classes like Hot Yoga Barre and Hot 26 which are classes I’ve never taken. It was really refreshing.
And then it dawned on me. I had been going to their studio each day in the month of October. I know, I know, it’s only been 4 days, BUT STILL! So I decided the other night to try to do some yoga each day of October. Why, do you ask?
1. I’m unemployed
2. I want to eventually be able to do really awesome poses like crow
3. I think I become a more positive and accessible person after my practice
4. I like setting intentions for my day
Number four brings me to the title of my blog today
I’m weird: OPU. My intention for my practice this morning and for my day today is: Optimism, Patience, Understanding. Hopefully today I’ll embody these and center myself with OPU when something frustrates or upsets me throughout the day. I’ll check back with you soon and let you know!
